Job position available – Mechanic required for our workshop

We are looking for a mechanic to join our busy marine workshop. Want to be home every night? No more early starts or 12 hours shifts? Have every weekend off? Watch your kids sports and attend your mates parties? This could be the change that you have been looking for!

We are a small family owned and operated business, with a friendly team waiting to welcome you! Job description: Servicing all makes of outboard engines, Mercruiser sterndrives, Yamaha and Seadoo jetskis, trailers and whatever else comes through the door! You will have variation in your days here, not the same old, day in, day out. You will be heading out on the water to test boats, and who doesn’t love that!

You must be:

  • Qualified as a mechanic and be able to provide your certificate
  • Have a current manual drivers license
  • Have a skippers ticket (or be willing to get one)
  • Have a forklift ticket (or be willing to get one)
  • Have a means of transport to get to and from work each day
  • Be a team player
  • Be able to work well under pressure
  • Have great time management skills
  • Neat handwriting (At least legible handwriting, block letters are fine)
  • Knowledge or experience working on boats is desirable, but not essential. Training will be provided for the right candidate (you must already hold your mechanical certification – that is a must)

Salary is negotiable, based on your experience. Hourly rate up to $38 for the right candidate.

Hours: Monday to Friday (8am til 5pm). NO WEEKENDS, NO LATE NIGHTS, just 5 days per week!

About the role available

Mechanic: We are seeking a qualified mechanic to join our team. Preference would be given to those with marine experience, but training will be provided for the right candidate. You will be required to completeĀ services on outboards and jetskis as well as repairs and other maintenance work.

The jobs offered are on a full time basis with 4Ā weeks annual leave.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am til 5pm

Skills and experience

We will give preference to those who areĀ trained in Yamaha outboards and or Yamaha Waverunners, but will also consider those who have been trained on other brands of outboards or jet skis.

Necessary requirements are:

  • A current Australian drivers license
  • A current police clearance certificate
  • Copy of your mechanical qualification certificate
  • Good handwriting skills
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Skippers ticket (can be gained after successful employment)
  • Forklift ticket (can be gained after successful employment)
