Returns and Exchanges


You may order products through our website: www.sportsmarine.com.au at any time by selecting and submitting your designated order in accordance with Sportsmarine’s Terms and Conditions. Any order placed through our online platform is an offer from the purchaser to acquire the product for the price notified in addition to any charges or taxes (i.e. GST and Postage Fees). We reserve the right to accept or reject your order for any reason, including (without limitation) if the requested product is not available of there is an error in the price or product description posted on the website. Each order placed for items/products through Sportsmarine’s Online store is a binding agreement between the purchaser and Sportsmarine to supply those products. For each order to be accepted by us, we will supply the products in that order to you in accordance with these terms and conditions. 

If we reject an order placed through the Online Store, then we will endeavour to notify you of that rejection at the time you place the order or within a reasonable time after you submit the order. 


Prior to the dispatch of your order, we may cancel all or any part of the order (including orders which have been accepted) without any liability to you for the cancellation of that order. Cancelling orders without liability is only eligible when; (1) the requested products in that order are no longer available;  (2) there is an error in the pricing of the product or the items description displayed on the website in relation to the relevant product in that order; (3) the order has been placed and breaches the Terms and Conditions (Please see ‘Terms and Conditions’ on our website for more information). 

If we cancel all or any part of an order, Sportsmarine will endeavour to provide you with reasonable notice of the cancellation and will provide you with a refund for goods purchased to your nominated bank account. If you cancel an order before the order has been processed and shipped, Sportsmarine will provide you with a store credit to be used within 12-months from date of cancellation. If you do not use the store credit before the 12-month use-by-date, you will forfeit the funds in question. Exemptions may be made to this process, but it would be on a case-by-case basis and would be dependent on the product(s) that were purchased. 

Prior to the dispatch of your order, you may cancel all or any part of an order (including orders that we have accepted but excluding special orders) due to circumstances beyond your reasonable control (i.e. loss of employment, serious injury or illness) but not if you simply change your mind without any liability to us for that cancellation. Please familiarise yourself with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) guidelines found at https://www.accc.gov.au

If you wish to cancel an order, you must provide Sportsmarine with reasons for cancelling (written format) before the dispatch of an order. You cannot cancel all or any part of the order after it has been dispatched by us. 


‘Availability: In Stock’ does not mean an item is physically in-stock at Sportsmarine, it may be available at a supplier warehouse both domestically and internationally. If your requested product has to be ordered from a supplier or warehouse, this order will be classified as a ‘Special Order’ and you will be notified of its status change. Prior to us ordering your requested product(s) from the relevant warehouse or supplier, you may cancel all or part of an order, including orders accepted by Sportsmarine due to circumstances beyond your control. These are circumstances such as loss of employment, serious injury or illness, you cannot cancel an order if you simply change your mind, without any liability to us for that cancellation. If you wish to cancel your order (‘Special Order’), you must provide us adequate notice and eligible reasoning. You cannot cancel all or any part of an order after your requested products have been ordered by us. Please note that many of the parts available on Partstream Books such as the Yamaha Parts Catalogues are special parts orders and will be subject to this section. 


Please be advised of the following information when wishing to process returns for goods sold and supplied through Sportsmarine. Unless you notify Sportsmarine by email or telephone within fourteen (14) days of delivery of any products, and such notification is confirmed in writing within seven (7) days of its receipt by Sports, the products purchased shall be deemed to have been accepted by you, the purchaser. 

Sportsmarine will accept product returns and provide you with ( at the discretion of Sportsmarine) a replacement product (subject to availability), a store credit, refund or repair when the following has occurred: 

  1. The product delivered is faulty or is not of merchantable quality. 
  2. The product delivered is not fit for its intended purpose. 
  3. The product delivered does not match the description on the website. 

If the product delivered is faulty, not of merchantable quality, not fit for its intended purpose, does not match the description ( please be aware that images and designs are subject to change), or is covered under warranty from the manufacturer please contact (08) 9721 4390 or email boatbits@sportsmarine.com.au and one of our team members will assist with your inquiry as soon as possible. 

To enable us to elevate and process your return request please ensure you have the following information. 

  1. The Order Number or Invoice Number. 
  2. A detailed description of the problem and the reason for your request to return the product. 
  3. Where applicable, Photographs or Video Documentation of the product which is damaged (during transportation).
  4. Your full name, address, and contact information.

We will examine your return request and if you are successful, we will send you full return instructions and return address information. 

If Sportsmarine, or the manufacturer believes that we require more clarification as to the issue in question, we may contact you to clarify in order to provide you with a more efficient and effective service. 

In some cases a store credit, refund, replacement or repair will not be issued if you; (1) Modify the product in any way not in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines; (2) Misuse the product in a way that is contrary to the user instructions or packaging labels; (3) You intentionally damage the product through user fault or accidental damage; (4) You simply change your mind.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
